Sound therapy, or sound healing, is a deeply restorative practice that uses vibration and frequency to support relaxation, balance, and well-being. Instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and more are used to create sound waves that gently move through the body. Rather than something you “do,” sound therapy is an experience you receive—allowing your nervous system to slow down and your body to rest.
At its core, sound healing helps guide the brain into calmer states associated with meditation, creativity, and deep rest. In these states, the body naturally shifts out of stress mode and into repair and rest. It's a safe sacred space that allows you to slow down and tune in.
After being a sound bath participant for many years, I finally took my musical background as a pianist and decided to learn how to facilitate this beautifully healing practice. It personally benefits me so much I had to share it with others!
I am currently undergoing a 200 hour Certification course with the Sound Medicine Academy. Through this we learn about brain entrainment, frequencies, all the different instruments, and so so much more. I am so excited to be able to share this beautiful healing modality with you all!
I use a variety of beautiful healing instruments to create simple or complex sound journeys, based on your desires and needs. I have a variety of crystal singing bowls, tibetan bowls, rainsticks, kenari shaker, steel tongue drum, tribal drums, and a multitude of chimes. These instruments all have different purposes and beautiful sounds. Everyone resonates with different instruments - some may feel incredibly peaceful to your system, and some may feel a bit uncomfortable - this is normal, as they may help you unlock stuck energy and emotions.
As a participant, you aren't expected to do anything but relax, and be open to receiving the healing sounds. You are guided to lie or sit in a comfortable position with a yoga mat, blankets, and any props that make you feel most comfortable. I then start by guiding you into meditation through either some light stretching, breathwork, or a body scan, and then we begin our sound journey. Sound healing works by tapping into your brain's theta brain wave state - a state of relaxation, creativity, meditation, and light sleep. This is where the magic occurs.
